What does this data set describe?

Title:
ADCP Wave and Current Data from OB3, Coastal Ocean Research and Monitoring Program, Onslow Bay, North Carolina, January 2004 - April 2004
Abstract:
An upward looking wave-upgraded ADCP was moored on the bottom at station OB3 in Onslow Bay, North Carolina at 17.6 m depth on the continental shelf. Current data are sampled over one hour periods. Depth bins are 0.7 meters. The first bin is centered at 16.4 m depth and subsequent bins are spaced at 0.7 meter intervals above that. The last couple of bins are above the surface, and so are not useful. Waves bursts were collected every 4 hours. Each burst contains 2400 samples collected at 2 Hz. Processing was done by Frederick M. Bingham, a professor of phyics at UNC Wilmington. Raw ADCP files were extracted from the instrument. Data have not been quality controlled in any way. This metadata record describes the raw file downloaded directly from the instrument.
Supplemental_Information: Sensor name: RDI Workhorse Sentinel, 1200 kHz.
